Music and Story. Two ways to tell a tale. Bill has been active with both since a young age, likely starting with the first time he tried to spin a yarn in order to get a parent's attention. As his friends can attest, for better or worse, he hasn't stopped talking since. Putting pen to paper, Bill studied creative writing throughout high school and focused on it during his studies at Duke University, particularly spending time writing short stories and poetry. Meanwhile, his interest in music likely started with odd gurgling sounds and screeching noises in the formative years, graduating to actual piano studies at age 6. After concluding his undergraduate studies, Bill went on to spend two years at Berklee College of Music, where he immersed himself in everything from big band arranging to film scoring, including detours through the worlds of gospel music, afro-cuban jazz and everything in between. After Berklee, Bill interned with Hans Zimmer at the Media Ventures facility while also studying film scoring at UCLA. He began composing music for shows to be aired on HBO, Showtime and ESPN. In addition, he was also writing jingles for radio and television as well as composing for a variety of independent movies. Since those early years, Bill has composed for a variety of projects as wide ranging as award-winning industrial films for Bayer AG and live theater productions for stages in Los Angeles. Bill maintains studios in Los Angeles and Bentonville, Arkansas.
Bill is very excited about his first family music production: "It's Christmas (and Grandma's Comin' to Town"). It features his children William and Anaïs on vocals and a "delicious" cameo from his wife Markita. On the writing front, Bill anticipates publishing a series of children's stories in the near future and is looking forward to growing that catalogue as his children regularly provide fodder and inspiration for such tales.
